Search intent

What a searcher actually wants from a query.

All guides

Search intent is the goal behind a search: to learn something, to compare options, to make a purchase, or to reach a specific page. Matching a page to the dominant intent for a query is the single biggest factor in whether it ranks. Misjudge the intent and even excellent content will struggle.
